Slotegraaf Team went to Belize again in February 2011 and continued working on a second storey of a Christian school which they started in January 2010.  Working alongside the local men, they were able to complete a large portion of the second storey, focusing primarily on the heavy construction and framing required with block walls and beams.

They had a good time together and were also able to spend some time in the local community meeting the families and children that attend the school and local church, fishing, and snorkeling with the stingrays in the ocean.

This project was possible through Worldwide Christian Schools, which partners with the Presbyterian Schools, a department of the Presbyterian Church of Belize.

Belize is a small Central American country with unique opportunity for Christian education. The Belizean government has agreed to financially support the first school established in a new area and, in this way, Christian schools are able to have many of their costs covered by the government.

Pastor Ernest Betson and his wife Carolyn started a church in a poverty stricken community in Belize City known as "The Burial Grounds" where they minister spiritually, physically and educationally. They saw that many young children did not attend school and a survey found that, while parents gave the excuse of financial constraint and distance, it seemed that education was not a priority for them.

On September 1, 2007, they started the Unity Presbyterian School as a preschool and it has since grown much faster than expected, to 238 students! The community has come to respect and appreciate the school and have embraced it with love and pride! However, with this growth has come the need to add a 2nd floor of classrooms.
